Upon waking poke your head outside, breathe in the new day, acknowledge “it’s a new day” “I too am new right now” Stretch in a way that feels good in the moment, gently, freely…
The idea is that if/when we wake up not feeling so perky, or we are feeling achey, we don’t decide anything about it, we actually give ourselves the chance to wake up and move about.
Light a candle, often, anytime, as a ritual of love, as a ritual to say hey I’m with you, you’ve got an ally here.
Spend extra time massaging high quality oil/body butter all over your precious body, I love Sun Potion’s Shea Butter, Ojio’s raw organic cacao butter(comes in chunks and I just use it like a stone and rub it on direct, very creamy…
Stand at the sea’s edge and breathe in all that magnificence, the feet are very absorbent, standing on barefeet and bare ground each day brings real physical healing to the body.
Mid-Day lay down like a starfish, all stretched out and take some long deep breaths, start with 3, shoot for 10, notice the breath coursing thru your body, if you fall asleep, no worries, take a midday Savasana.
Soak your feet in an epsom salt bath and do some deep breathing(pranayama) a great way to take a 10 minute reprieve
You don’t HAVE to do all or any of these things to be good, You already are good, just the way you are, if you want, these are some ways to show yourself some extra love…
Be your biggest fan, secretly whisper to yourself throughout the day, “you got this” “you can do it” “I love you so much”
if you are having a great day acknowledge the glad realm, breathe into, if you are having a tough time acknowledge yourself for the little things, like brushing your teeth or getting out of bed, well done!
This is an ongoing conversation and ideas will grow here over time, come back later 🙂 10/3/14
This is lovely. A friend of mine suggests making a to-done list on difficult days. Check off all the things you’ve already done! It’s very self-affirming.
